A Good Day

Today was good. The kids were pretty well-behaved, and lesson plans went well.
This afternoon I did my first staff development, and it went really well. Cheryl and I are working on Backwards Design, and I brought some good ideas into her office one day, so we decided to incorporate them into today's workshop.
Being a literacy leader is really fun. I finally feel like I can work in an area where I feel trained. I don't think I want to be an Instructional Coach anymore because of the general treatment they receive, but I really like doing staff trainings at the school level.
I am headed to bed super early tonight. I don't have anything to do that's urgent, so I'm going to curl up in bed after dinner and read until I fall asleep. Lately, I've gotten into the habit of falling asleep on the couch until 2 or 3 am, and then trying to go to bed. It's clearly not restful sleep, and it's starting to take a toll on me.
